Dr. Dmitrij Sitenko

Mathematical Image Processing
Ruprecht Karls University Heidelberg

My name is Dmitrij Sitenko, and I am a postdoctoral researcher in the field of applied mathematics at Heidelberg University. My research interests primarily focus on algorithmic design and mathematical modeling of problems in the field of data classification and data labeling on graphs using theoretical tools of Riemannian Geometry, Information Geometry and Optimization. During my doctoral studies, using geometry of statistical manifolds I developed a data-driven approach for the specific task of order-constrained segmentation of 3D-Otical Coherence Tomography (OCT) data which is the mostly used non-invasive acquisition method of large volumetric scans of human retinal tissues. Currently, my work concerns the acceleration of tensor networks algorithms along with improvements of their computational and representation efficiency. The main objective is at achieving accurate estimation of ground states in the field of Quantum State Tomography while addressing challenges related to the curse of dimensionality.
